Sometimes we’re on the mountaintop in our walk with God, facing an exhilarating view of how He is working in our lives and in His church. But sometimes we’re in the fiery furnace.
These [trials] have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.
1 Peter 1:7 NIV
Not all of our trials come for this reason. Sometimes they are our own fault. Sometimes they are merely part of life in a fallen world. But no matter the cause, will you join me in praying that our difficulties will help burn away the dross in our lives? That we and those around us will see a beauty that results in praise and honor to our blessed Lord and Savior on the other side?
