Praying Scripture – 2/19/2020

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.

1 Corinthians 13:4-8

Most Gracious Father,
Thank You for this beautiful portrait of love. Thank you that You show me what love looks like and how You are calling me to love those around me. Thank You for sending Your Son, Jesus, to model this kind of love for me, showing me what it means to be truly human. Work in me. Create fruit in me that honors You, demonstrating my love for You and for my neighbor. Pour Your patience, kindness, humility, servant’s heart, sacrificial love, and faithfulness into me. Make it overflow and splash onto those around me. I can’t do it on my own. I need the transformative work of Your Spirit. And as You do this work, please give me a clearer vision and understanding of who You are. In Your precious Son’s name I pray. Amen.
