5 I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits,

and in his word I put my hope.
6 I wait for the Lord more than watchmen wait for the morning,
more than watchmen wait for the morning.
7 Israel, put your hope in the Lord,
for with the Lord is unfailing love
and with him is full redemption.
8 He himself will redeem Israel
from all their sins.
Faithful Father,
I look around me and know to depth of my soul that I can do nothing but wait. I wait for Your presence, for Your work, for Your healing, for Your deliverance. Help me to focus on Your character and to keep Your word continually before me, bringing hope. I wait and I watch. I eagerly look forward to the day when You make all things right and new. I expectantly wait for the day when You will redeem this time, pain, and sorrow. Help me to focus on You and Your unfailing love. Heal us. Heal our world. In Your Son’s name I pray, Amen.
