As Christmas draws ever closer, we turn to the theme of joy.
10 But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. 11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.
Luke 2:10-11
Gracious Father, You call us to rejoice not based on our individual circumstances, but based on the deliverance and salvation that You have made possible through the birth, life, death, and resurrection of Your Son. No matter what we face today, give us pause. Bring to remembrance the deep and abiding joy that can be ours because of Jesus. Help us to focus on the gift of our relationship with You rather than the myriad of distractions that surround us that bring only temporary happiness or grief. May we reflect Your joy to the world around us, ultimately giving glory to You our God in all that we say and do. Amen.

I appreciate pauses like this to keep me grounded in what’s really important. Thanks Jen.

I need the pauses too, Dottie! Praying we all can make some extra space for Jesus this Christmas.
