Praying Scripture – 4/18/2020

I will praise the Lord, who counsels me;
even at night my heart instructs me.
I keep my eyes always on the Lord.
With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken.
Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices;
my body also will rest secure,
10 because you will not abandon me to the realm of the dead,
nor will you let your faithful one see decay.
11 You make known to me the path of life;
you will fill me with joy in your presence,
with eternal pleasures at your right hand.

Psalm 16:7-11 (NIV)

Lord of all wisdom,
You are Lord above all, with knowledge and wisdom beyond my comprehension. I thank You for the privilege of coming into Your presence. I thank You for the gift of Your word in which You make known Your will and Your ways to Your people. By it You counsel and guide me. Help me to always keep my eyes focused on You; when I focus on You, my Redeemer and Deliverer I am not shaken, no matter what I face. I thank You that You will never abandon me. I thank You for Your Son, Jesus. Because He never saw decay, because of His resurrection, I too can look forward to the resurrection, the new heavens, and the new earth. I can look forward to the time when You will make all things new. Because of this hope, I do not need to fear anything. Even death. Thank You that You have made known to me the path into Your presence through Jesus. Thank You that You teach me Your ways that I may honor You in this life. Thank You that I can look forward to eternal joy in Your presence.
In Your precious Son’s name I bring these thanks before Your throne. Amen.
