If you accept my words
Proverbs 2:1-5 NIV
and store up my commands within you,
turning your ear to wisdom
and applying your heart to understanding,
indeed, if you call out for insight
and cry aloud for understanding,
and if you look for it as for silver
and search for it as for hidden treasure,
then you will understand the fear of the LORD
and find the knowledge of God.
Wise and loving Father,
Today I come before You today seeking wisdom. Help me to listen when You speak and to respond. Help me to store up your instructions and commands within my heart, never turning aside to act in my own ways instead of Yours. Help me to stop and listen before I speak or act. Help me to wrestle through the things I don’t understand or want in Your presence. I need the wisdom, discernment, insight, and understanding that come only from You. Teach me, Lord. Bring me to a place where I understand the fear of the LORD and find knowledge of You, that I may serve and love You well. In Jesus name I pray these things. Amen.
